Preschool Projects & Workshops

We are enthusiastic about building partnerships with local Early Years settings and schools to provide creative and effective learning opportunities.

With the Early Years curriculum in mind, our Learning and Participation Department has developed a set of projects to assist you in delivering drama at your setting/school or as a way of using drama as a tool for engaging learning.

Our practitioners have a wealth of experience working to learning objectives in nurseries, preschools, schools and other educational environments as well as making theatre with young people and creating professional theatre for all types of audiences; it is these three areas that inform our work in settings and schools. We also aim to build additional skills development in areas such as resilience or literacy into our projects – we want to give your students the best opportunities to assist them with their progress.

Our Education Programme offers:

• Transparent benefits for your students and you as a teacher
• Skills and understanding for progress and assessment
• Skills for personal and social development and resilience
• Development of creative thinking and imagination
• Our programme includes workshops and projects for both EYFS settings (preschools, nurseries) and the Foundation Stage/Reception Year in Primary schools.

If you would like to enquire about or discuss any of our workshops or projects, or enquire about a bespoke project for your school, please do not hesitate to contact our Creative Practitioner, Lottie Crowder lottiec@cornexchangenew.co.uk

The project has been fantastic! All children have loved being a part of it and it has covered many areas of the EYFS curriculum. The combination of physical activities, art and storytelling has ensured that all children are engaged and able to participate. The children look forward to their sessions each week and take great pride in what they have achieved and created in the sessions.

I'm loving the project so far. It's such good fun and the children are really loving it too. We all look forward to Thursdays. Some of the more shy children are really coming out of their shell which is lovely to see.

The project was a success from the start. The children looked forward to the sessions and were always engaged. You covered all the areas you had mentioned on your program and you were very thorough with each activity. Every session was packed with short activities that were manageable for all. At times, I was actually impressed that they could do so much in an hour. I can’t really think of any improvement to make to the project and I will definitely recommend this project to other EYFS practitioners. I would also be very happy to take part in another project in the future.
