Crossing Lines Project-

Under the artistic direction of renowned German outdoor arts company PAN.OPTIKUM team and Berlin based RAPUCATION, young adults from 10 partner cities across Europe, working independently of one another, will develop a site-specific performance, “Crossing Lines”, to be performed within the scope of their city or town.

Following a set of introductory workshops, 15 - 25 young people from the Newbury area will be selected to create a performance as the UK's representatives for the project. This team of 17 - 25 year olds will work in partnership with a hip-hop choreographer from PAN.OPTIKUM, Sigrun Fritsch, the artistic director of PAN.OPTIKUM and representatives from the Corn Exchange Trust and the 101 Outdoor Arts Creation Space.

To take part in this project you must be available on

23, 24 & 25 May 2016 to meet the company and begin the creative process

17 - 28 August 2016 for a two week residency at 101 Outdoor Arts Creation Space

After the project-

One year later, in June/July 2017, 3 of the Newbury participants will be invited by to Freiburg to PAN.OPTIKUM’s production site, where they will spend 4 - 6 weeks developing a large-scale venue performance together with three youth/young adults from each of the other partner festivals to create a performance to tour across Europe in 2017 (to Denmark, Germany, Norway, Poland, Spain & Romania).

This new production will premiere in Freiburg on 27 July 2017.

This is an incredible and unique opportunity to connect with 101 Outdoor Arts Creation Space here in the UK and to forge links with the professional world of outdoor arts internationally as part of this Creative Europe project.
