Newbury Spring Festival

Newbury Spring Festival is one of the most popular and successful music festivals in the South of England.

Join members of the National Youth Jazz Orchestra for an evening showcasing some of the best emerging UK Jazz talent. This sextet plays the music of jazz icon Dizzy Gillespie, directed by Mark Armstrong.

We’re delighted to welcome the London Mozart Players. Directed by Martin James Bartlett, with international star tenor Allan Clayton and young virtuoso horn player Ben Goldscheider, in a very special concert to open this year’s Newbury Spring Festival.

We welcome Ben Goldscheider to the Festival for this morning masterclass ahead of his evening performance with the London Mozart Players.

A celebration of David and Lady Mary Russell’s Evenings at Combe, from the artists who regularly performed there.

Ukrainian pianist Vadym Kholodenko won the Van Cliburn competition in 2013 and has gone on to become one of the finest pianists of his generation.

In today’s programme we shall hear Schumann’s much-loved piano quintet.

The Festival’s journey of music and wine continues with a tasting of American food and Californian wines, followed by a performance of some of the finest American tunes of the 1920s and onwards from The Great American Songbook.
