Giving Tuesday 2022 - Rivar Case Study

Corn Exchange Newbury building against a blue sky with a crowd of people outside

This Giving Tuesday, we would like to take the opportunity to say a huge thank you to Rivar Ltd for their generous support over the years.

As a registered charity we rely in part on donations from our wonderful audiences and supporters, as well as support from corporate partners. This #GivingTuesday, we are shining the spotlight on Rivar Ltd, a property development company based in Newbury and one of our longstanding local partners. Over the years, Rivar's relationship with the Corn Exchange has made an impact across the breadth of work we present in our building and out in the community.

Initially a performance supporter, Rivar first supported us in 2008 by sponsoring a show each season, and later generously provided a charitable donation for Dementia Friendly Screenings, which are designed to meet the needs of people living with dementia and their families and carers and offer a more relaxed cinema environment.

Rivar is delighted to have sponsored the Corn Exchange for many years. The contribution of the Corn Exchange to the community with its varied programme is invaluable with productions and workshops that are of interest to a broad section of the local and regional population. It is very important that sponsorship, in particular, enables the Corn Exchange to continue with its good work and Rivar looks forward to a continuing relationship with the theatre.Malcolm T Bull, Chairman of Rivar

More recently, Rivar has donated towards our 2021 Summer Festival and our project, Making Music Making Friends - a 12-week inter-generational project led by our Learning and Participation team which pairs primary school children with care home residents for music making workshops, with professional music practitioners. These sessions have been a joy to behold with children and residents alike reporting having had a wonderful time.

One participant said ‘I love seeing the children’s faces when they sing with us. It brings me back to when my children were little.’

Another commented ‘I look forward to the children coming. They bring a good energy here.

At the Corn Exchange, we are committed to the development of mutually beneficial partnerships. Partnerships create great opportunities to communicate brands and services, and companies align themselves with us for a variety of aims.

We work with each prospective partner to identify common objectives and opportunities including annual membership and hospitality opportunities - and every package is tailor made to suit different priorities and budgets. Find out more about our corporate opportunities here.
